We're delighted that Friends of Ibba Girls School (FIGS) has been recognised with a Christmas Challenge 2017 Third Place Award out of 528 participating charities, for excellence in coordinating our 2017 Big Give campaign.
Thanks to many generous Friends, the campaign exceeded its target of £100,000, to feed the 200 girl students at Ibba Girls Boarding School (IGBS) three meals a day throughout the 2018 school year. A total of £111,825 was raised, and as a result of good campaign planning and delivery, the Christmas Challenge 2017 Award given to FIGS comes with a further cash prize of £1,000.
The funds raised above our target will go towards other essential items such as charcoal, firewood, medicines, and stationery -- all in order that the 200 girl students can live and learn at IGBS undisrupted through 2018.
