Dear Friends,
I have just returned from two weeks in Ibba with our architect Malcolm Worby, and three of our supporters Margaret Eddershaw, Keith Sturgess and Matt Bryden who led an exciting programme of English Language teaching, singing, poetry, dance and drama.
Come and hear the latest first-hand news about South Sudan and about Ibba Girls School, at our Annual Meeting in Coventry on Saturday November 26 from 12pm till 6pm followed by supper. Highlights include:
# Buffet lunch of salads, snacks, sandwiches and sweet things from 12pm onwards (for £9 per person)
# A face to face talk with Bridget Nagomoro, the founder of the school, who will be visiting the UK in November
# A live Skype conversation with staff and students at Ibba Girls School
# A talk about prospects for South Sudan from Bishop Anthony Poggo, recently appointed as the Archbishop of Canterbury’s adviser for the international Anglican Communion (invited and awaiting confirmation)
# An immersive exhibition with video clips from staff and students in Ibba
# Progress reports from FIGS Trustees, including Treasurer Gary Bandy, and from FIGS donors and supporters
# Learn about how to get more involved in FIGS as an organisation and/or as an individual, e.g. in student sponsorship, volunteering, etc.
# Mobilise momentum for Big Give (Nov 29 till Dec 2). Hear the Big secret
# Buy FIGS Christmas cards, and Margaret Eddershaw’s poetry books - which make ideal presents
# Book to stay for supper at 6pm (£12 for 2 courses) with complimentary fizz to celebrate John’s 75th birthday
