It is my absolute pleasure to introduce myself to you. My name is Heidi and I’ve been a supporter of FIGS for some time. I initially got involved when the Founder of Ibba Girls’ Boarding School, Bridget Nagomoro, came to the UK to undertake her postgraduate studies and begin her MSc in Development Management with The Open University. Over time, Bridget and I became good friends and I got to learn more about her dreams, her family and the school itself. I was delighted to help raise just under £8K towards her scholarship and am very excited to now be part of the FIGS team.
I have worked in International Development since 2012, both in the Higher Education and charity sectors. I have worked in various roles, including fundraising, research management and communications. I am here to provide additional support for FIGS with fundraising as we significantly ramp up our targets. In the two days a week I will be working for FIGS, I will focus on corporate donors, alongside generating new leads with trusts and foundations. I’m also going to be leading on a number of community fundraising initiatives in 2019, starting with the Coventry Festival of Running. Fancy joining us on Sunday 24 March? I’m assembling a team to run the half marathon and the family-friendly 5KM. It is so easy to sign up. Choose your run, sign up online and then set up a fundraising page on Virgin Money Giving. Pop in your details, select ‘Friends of Ibba Girls School’ and get sharing! I hope to see you there.
Please don’t ever hesitate to get in touch with me via firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love to hear from you, answer any questions you may have and hear about your fundraising ideas.
